life update:

i kept trying to convince myself that i was excited to go to kelowna. really, i was just excited to get out of this city. thinking about living there was giving me a knot in my stomach that i couldn't ignore any longer. why move to a smaller city that's more spread out, with less to do, just to keep doing exactly what i'm doing now? i had already started thinking about what i was going to do after that, and that isn't a good sign.

Yes, I'm still leaving. April 15th. Tom and I. Montreal. Am I terrified? Yes. But I'm terrified because I'm pushing myself; challenging myself; stepping outside of my box, so to speak. I think it will prove to be exactly what I need.

There's not a doubt in my mind that everyone thinks I'm a bit crazy, for various reasons. But until I start dismissing others' opinions and following my heart, I'm not going to get anywhere.

*deep breath*

So, work was pretty good tonight. The music was enjoyable, the bar was packed, the people were nice and the money was pretty sweet, thanks to my new "Lisa needs braces" tip cup. I was even granted the coveted and generally forbidden smoke break.

The only thing....and this is the question I find myself asking every week:

random information time!

- I always thought I loved the smell of coffee, until my life started smelling like it.
- As a part of my weight-gain plan, today I bought two bags of chips, a box of chocolates, a bag of cookies, and a case of beer.
- My roomates are watching a true crime show about a woman who stabbed her two kids and then slashed her own throat to make it look like a random intruder did it. I'm feeling very ill as a result.
- Yesterday I started reading "Cat's Eye" by Margaret Atwood. I haven't read a book for a while. My brain feels healthier already.
- Last night my cat got a Liquor Dome bracelet stuck to his foot and couldn't get it off. The other end of the bracelet had a granola bar wrapper stuck to it. I hope you can picture this. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard without being high.
-When the weather gets cold, my house gets dry. When my house gets dry, I pick my nose more. I apologize to everyone who knows me.
- I bought something today that is strawberry cheesecake flavoured and is not food. you can use your imagination.
- I bought David Blaine 'Fearless' on dvd. i find him to be magically delicious, if you will.
- I wrote a pretty intense, personal journal entry yesterday. an hour later i decided it was stupid and cheesy, so i made it completely private. i may rethink this.
- Is it just me, or Tom Cruise creepier by the day?
- Since i (pretty much) quit smoking weed, i've been smoking cigarettes twice as much. this is not good.
- The more i watch Intervention, the more i never want to try hard drugs ever. i've discovered, much to my surprise, that there are enough heroin addicted, coke snorting, boozed up prostitutes in the world. who'd have guessed?
- Apparantly we're "so cute it would make me barf, except you guys are really cool." i can only agree.
- Our bathroom light is burnt out. i have been peeing by candlelight for the past three days. needless to say, it's very romantic.
- my cat is in love with my toilet. if you are at my house and you hear "sploosh sploosh sploosh", do not be alarmed. however, i would have to ask that you always, always flush.
- my cat only loves me after the splooshing has taken place. this makes for an unpleasant snuggle session.
- tom brought over his hookah earlier this evening with tobacco that smells and tastes like Fruit to Go. Delicious.
- later, post-bar, the hookah went "crash!" and the coal went "wheeeeeee....plop!....sssssssss". this was my bad. jon, i hope your foot is ok.
- does anyone know the best way to conceal burn marks on carpet?

okay, so i'm taking Flea to get fixed on wednesday. I've received mail from the vet pressuring me to get pre-surgical bloodwork done on him....apparantly it will cost and extra $80 or so. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it *really* something I should be doing, or is it just a cash grab? Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
